2009 President's Annual Report — From The Presidents Corner
SOITC 2009 Annual Meeting Report to the Membership
June 6, 2009
Since last reporting to you a year ago at our 2008 gathering, your SOITC elected Board continues to maintain compliance with US Federal IRS regulatory financial reporting requirements, and the Indiana Secretary of State agency operational requirement for a officially recognized non – profit corporation. Our liability insurance coverage remains in place for all SOITC formally planned and posted activities.
The SOITC membership activity was at 265 RV units; at year end (2008). We currently have 305 RV units (610 individuals) in good standing as members of SOITC. This is our forth rally, we are now three years old, and have grown from 59 initial RV units to our present count. This is a 500% growth which is excellent in todays economic conditions. As members, please continue to spread the word about our club, its Internet website and seek support from DRV dealers and other after market RV product sources.
We continue to grow in our RV gatherings with Regional, State and Provincial rally activities occurring on a regular basis. Please remember to visit our Club website www.suitesowners.com see what planned events are being conducted in the different geographical areas.
Your Board, with Club members assistance continues to be successful in locating and formalizing future annual rally meeting sites and facilities. They are:
- 2010, June – Garden of the Gods Campground, Colorado Springs CO
- 2011, June, Serville, Tennessee, River Plantation RV Park
- 2012, June, Wildwood Golf & RV Resort, McGregor ON, Canada
- 2013, June, Elkhart County 4-H Fairground, Goshen Indiana
Please visit our Club website previously stated for information about these planned events.
Our Canadian members are also planning mini rally gatherings whose dates and locations are posted on our club website. We continue to have chapters forming in different states. We need club members assistance as volunteers for State and Province coordinators for all our regional areas, and was discussed at your regional meeting prior this report presentation.
Major achievements since last reporting to you are:
- Updating & viewing presentation of our Club website and making it more user friendly and for all Suites owners post NHTSA recall notices for products used in our RV units.
- Posting of a electronic downloadable “Members Sponsors Package” which allows members to provide important data and forms to potential sponsors for consideration
- Purchase of an Automatic Electronic Defibrillators (AED) for Club members Annual and Regional medical first responders usage. This was made possible through the timely efforts and financial support of All Seasons RV Management.
- Obtaining new sponsors for supplemental financial support of Club events and obtaining aftermarket RV product & services growth to attend our annual events, thus financially supplementing your Club treasury.
- Revising our club membership card design and develop an online info package and instructions for our members too follow. All members will be receiving information through the Club e-mail system for how the process will happen. (Thanks to the efforts of Everett Ellwitz we will begin today taking your pictures and producing new membership cards for members to carry.)
- Implement coordination and necessary actions With RV supplier, Camping World, to obtain supplemental financial contributions into our Club treasury for sales and purchases of products and or services as outlined in their “Affiliation Program” guidelines.
Were we headed?
In accordance with one of our Club purposes for existenance, we will continue to plan for different types of RV topic’s to be presented at annual events that provide educational information. These topics will present & discuss topics like fire safety in a RV, after market warranty maintenance & service contracts, RV Safety While Traveling and other quality of life topics. We will provide members an opportunity to display their own crafts, hobbies, and innovative ideas to modifications that have been accomplished in or on their RV units.
In closing, your SOITC BOARD, continues to research, plan, review and proactively seek ways to enhance the capabilities of the Club and gain benefits for members of the Club thus insuring continued growth of the SOITC organization.
Respectfully Submitted.
